dad: where does "OK" come from?
me: all correct
dad: are you sure?
me: no xD
Sabino: OK stands for 'zero killed'. It was used during the war, everything was 'OK' when no one died (or that's what I've heard).
Ella: From what i've heard, it was supposed to be OR - "ordered recorded" but my latin teacher said the greeks used a phrase "Ola Kala", meaning "all fine" and that's maybe where it came from.
Sabino: Google tells me that there are more than six proposed etymologies, so we could all be right :)
